Our team

 the pre-school team has over 50 years of combined early years experience together at southdown methodist preschool.

Jo Trussler
Leader


Jo has worked at pre-school since 2010 and has a first class degree in Education and Early Years.      
​Jo is a designated safeguarding officer.

Jenny Toy
Deputy Leader

Jenny has worked at pre-school since 2005 and has completed the CACHE Level 3 for the Early Years Workforce.  Jenny is a designated safeguarding officer.

Shaheda Quium
​SENCO


Shaheda has worked at pre-school since 2013 and has completed her NVQ 3 in Children's Care, Learning and Development. Shaheda is the pre-school SENCO.

Helen Smith
Pre-School Assistant

Helen has worked at pre-school since 2007 and has completed her NVQ 3 in Children's Care, Learning and Development.

Annie Glyn-Davies
Pre-School Assistant

Annie joined pre-school in January 2018.  Annie has also been a voluntary primary classroom assistant since 2012.

Emma joined pre-school in January 2019.

Jamey Doe
Pre-School Assistant

Jamey joined pre-school in September 2020 and has a Level 3 diploma for Childcare Practitioners.  Jamey worked as a childminder from 2014 until joining the pre-school team. 
 

We are also very lucky to be able to call on Katie Atwell, Julia Prince and Lisa Jackson in times of need.  

All permanent staff have been DBS checked and are trained in Safeguarding, Paediatric First Aid, Food Hygiene, FGM, Prevent Training and Hertfordshire STEPS.   As part of our commitment to continued professional development staff regularly attend training courses provided by Herts for Learning.
